Former pupils snap up prep school site

Insider Media Limited - 20th Nov 2015Two former pupils have purchased their old independent preparatory school which shut its doors in December 2014 after falling pupil numbers and a failed merger.

Jamie, 45, and Jonathan Seddon, 43, attended Malsis School in Cross Hills, North Yorkshire in the early 1980s and were keen to bring the building back to life after hearing it fell into disuse last year.

They say that schooldays are the happiest of your life.

And that was obviously the case for former Malsis School pupils Jamie and Jonathan Seddon, who, after finding out the school had closed last year, bought the building from administrators.

Baroness Eaton backs plan to reopen Malsis School

Baroness EatonKeighley News - Thursday 25 June 2015: - A peer of the realm is backing a consortium battling to save a school which folded following a cash crisis.  Baroness Margaret Eaton, a life peer and former leader of Bradford Council, wants to see Malsis School in Glusburn - where her son was educated - back in operation.  The private school, for pupils aged up to 11, was closed by its trustees when it ran out of money and was placed in administration.
